The culture of our food cart is very much influenced by hip hop and Filipino culture. That’s why I incorporated typography and illustrated art work that showcased this. “Chopped and Skewered” is a riff on the remix technique “Chopped and Screwed” used by DJs. Skewers, or “inihaw” in Filipino culture, is a big part of celebrations. Because this type of event isn’t as familiar in the Portland area, some education was required, so I thought it was important to showcase how to grill skewers in a fun and engaging way.
